NCAPHA IS ACTIVELY RECRUITING FOR A CONTRACT POSITION TO BE PLACED AT THE NEW HANOVER COUNTY HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES

 

 

POSITION:  HIV Grant Outreach Educator               (Integrated Targeted Testing Services – AA 534)

 

Essential Duties

Collaborates with a variety of community partners to coordinate and provide testing, prevention and educational services in non-medical community settings during non-traditional hours.  Community settings are to include, but are not limited to: homeless shelters, substance abuse centers, jails, colleges, rehabilitation programs.  Provides educational and prevention programming and campaigns focused on sexually transmitted diseases and HIV throughout the community with the goals of increasing awareness; reducing high risk behaviors; and reducing risk of sexually transmitted diseases in higher risk populations across the community. Prepares and delivers all required program reports.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education or a related field and 1 year of related public health education experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.  Must have good driving record and own transportation.

 

Licenses/Certifications

Valid NC Driver’s License

 

Other Information

Hours:  32 hours per week including some evening and weekend time.  Must be flexible to meet the needs of the position and available for special events.  Position is expected to continue according to the availability of funds and/or service priorities.
