Description of Work:

This position is responsible for providing outpatient behavioral health treatment services to consumers through the following treatment modalities: individual, group, or family therapies. The position will:

  • Conduct therapy in compliance with NASW code of ethics.
  • Complete behavioral screening, triage, and referral of Hoke County Health Department consumers.
  • Provide case consultation and specialized services for substance misuse, suicide prevention, intimate partner/domestic violence, and at-risk youth populations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities / Competencies:

Qualified applicants must demonstrate the following:

  • Thorough knowledge of social work principles, techniques and practices and their application to family work, group work and community treatment issues.
  • Considerable knowledge of a wide range of behavior and psychosocial problems and
  • Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing and to plan and execute work effectively and independently.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Master’s degree (MSW) in social work from an appropriately accredited institution. Licensed to practice therapy in the state of North Carolina through accreditation with the NC Social Work Certification and Licensure Board. Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSW-A) is welcome to apply permitted that supervisory preceptorship is established.

Recruiting Salary Range:        $35 to $45 per hour (commensurate with experience)      

The normal working hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; however, flexibility is required to meet consumer needs.


Position is available from April 1, 2022, until August 31, 2024.
