COVID 19 Response

 

TITLE: Public Health Medical Office Assistant

 

Transylvania Public Health is accepting applications for multiple full-time Medical Office Assistant COVID 19 Response Project position.  This position is time-limited.  The primary purpose of this role is to coordinate and provide COVID 19 support to to clients at Transylvania Public Health, assisting health department contact tracing and assisting community testing initiatives. The schedule is typically Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm.  Alternate or additional hours (including weekends and holidays) may be required to meet department, public health response, or client needs.

 

·       Assist COVID 19 vaccinations to clients at Transylvania Public Health and off site clinics

·       Assist Health Deapartment contract tracing and managing community testing iniatives           

·       Assist to track and assess vaccine supply

·       Enter data into the North Carolina COVID 19 Vaccine Management System (CVMS)

·       Assist to monitor for and report trends, clusters/outbreaks, and breakthrough vaccine cases

·       Responsible for collecting PCR tests and Rapid tests and for executing rapid tests 

·       Responsible for adding cases to line list and in and in North Carolina Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NCEDSS) and assigning to COVID-19 Community Team Outreach (CCTO) for case investigation via the escalation list   

 

Knowledge’s, Skills and Abilities:

Some knowledge of the principles and practices of patient care and techniques of practical nursing. Some knowledge of common health and safety precautions in working in local health departments. Ability to work with staff and patients, under supervision, as set up by departmental policies. Ability to maintain clerical records and to compile reports from these records. Ability to use sound judgment and empathy in dealing with patients. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

 

Required Minimum Training:

High school or General Educational Development diploma, completion of a one-year formal training course in medical office assisting at a community college or technical institute; or High school or General Educational Development diploma and a combination of one year of clerical and health/dental related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation:

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Office Assistant (MOA) or equivalent

Current NC Driver’s License

CPR Certification
