                                                       PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE II



                                                   NURSE FAMILY PARTNERSHIP


SALARY GRADE: 15     $48,150




DESCRIPTION OF WORK:  This is an intermediate level professional nursing position in which the nurse has responsibility of coordinating and assuring quality nursing services for the Nurse Family Partnership.  This position will be responsible for providing home visits to a case load of participating clients.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:  Considerable knowledge of and skill in the application of nursing theory, practices, principles, and techniques in the application of providing comprehensive community health nursing services to women and their families. Considerable knowledge of available resources and organizations and the ability to coordinate these as needed.  Ability to provide intensive preventive health and social services to women during their first pregnancy and to children birth to 2 years of age.


MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  Graduation from a four-year college or university with a B.S. Degree in Nursing.


NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:  Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
