Description:           The primary purpose of this position is to provide and coordinate the Immunization Program for infants-adulthood. This is a State program with requirements to investigate vaccine preventable outbreaks, administervaccines, develop/revise immunization policies, coordinate activities related to immunization updates for staffand physician offices as necessary and provide assessments for Roanoke Valley Adult Day Program. Also,Responsible for inventory control and ordering of all vaccines and preparing monthly reports as required forstate contract addendum. The position will also require working daily clinics and performing investigations ofpositiveCOVID19 patientincluding contracttracing, asnecessary.


Requirements:       Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from a four-year college oruniversity with a B.S. in Nursing which includes a Public Health Nursing rotation and two years of PublicHealth Nursing experience; OR Master’s in Public Health and graduation from a school of professionalnursing and two years of professional nursing experience; OR graduation from a school of professionalnursing and three years of professional nursing experience including two years of Public Health nursingexperience.A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina and an appropriatedriver’s license valid in the State of N.C. is also required. All health department employees (with theexception of individuals with an accommodation or medical exemption) are required to get an annual flushotvaccineas partofcondition of employment.


Compensation:    Thehiringrangeforthispositionis$46,533-$75,541.HalifaxCountyprovidesacomprehensiveemployeebenefitspackage,includingmembershipintheN.C. LocalGovernmentEmployees’RetirementSystem.
