General Statement of Duties

The Public Health Marketing Support is a member of the Public Health team and assists in the development of new initiatives aligned with health equity.

Distinguishing Features of the Position

The position is responsible for building connections with media and partners to improve health equity in the community.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Tasks

  • Develop media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast, and online media to increase organization’s visibility
  • Assist with countering the mistrust generated by negative press from COVID-19 in order to rebuild the trust with the community and enhance our Communicable Disease efforts
  • Assist with outreach efforts around Public Health Services
  • Build connections with partners through a mix of channels, from traditional to digital and social.
  • Ensure that our marketing efforts serve to achieve immediate and long-term health equity goals
  • Forecast news cycles and identify areas of trending public interest
  • Establish a media relations plan, with actionable strategies for high-level placements
  • Engage with the HHSA agency team members to ensure that the marketing campaigns are aligned with all agency’s strategic goals and relevant plans for health equity.
  • Coordinate, collaborate and maintain effective communications with internal and external stakeholders to ensure awareness, cohesion, and alignment on implementation of marketing plans and tactics
  • Maintain social media presence across all digital channels; develop, monitor, and refresh content related to Health Equity internal and external websites
  • Write timely press releases and media kits for proactive and regular communication with the community.

KSA’s and Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing, or advertising
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Knowledge of traditional and digital media and social media
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Successful pre-employment drug screen.
  • Successful criminal Background check.

Physical Requirements

The ability to perform all duties associated with the position including, but not limited to lifting, prolonged standing, driving, sitting, bending, stooping, and operating or performing work with associated tools and machines.
