Description: Provides direct Family Planning services for women of childbearing age to include those with low income or those who would otherwise not have access to care. Position duties include family planning assessments, providing family planning education, performing lab/psychosocial assessments, and completing medical referrals as identified in the program standards. Ensures adherence to state Family Planning requirements as well as adherence to Federal Title X Requirements. Provides screenings, counseling, and referrals for patients with medical, psychosocial, behavioral, and nutritional problems.This position coordinates all Pharmacy requirements for 340B funded medications and training for Public Health Nurses in dispensing.
Requirements: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with a B.S. in Nursing which includes a Public Health Nursing rotation and two years of Public Health Nursing experience; OR Master’s in Public Health and graduation from a school of professional nursing and two years of professional nursing experience; OR graduation from a school of professional nursing and three years of professional nursing experience including two years of Public Health nursing experience. A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina and an appropriate driver’s license valid in the State of N.C. is also required.
Compensation: The hiring range for this position is $51,763 - $84,032. Halifax County provides a comprehensive employee benefits package, including membership in the N.C. Local Government Employees’ Retirement System.
Signing and Retention Bonus: A non-refundable signing bonus in the amount of $5,000 will be paid in the selected applicant’s first paycheck following employment and execution of the Employment Signing and Retention Bonus Agreement.
A retention bonus in the amount of $5,000 will be paid in the selected applicant’s next paycheck following the completion of 12 full months of employment in the same position with the County following the date of payment of the signing bonus.
