Temporary Nurse Position Description

Durham County Department of Public Health

Tuberculosis Clinic.

 

We are looking for a full-time temporary RN from 1/27/20 – 4/24/20.  Hours are

 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday with a one hour lunch.

Background: The staff of the Tuberculosis (TB) Control program (part of the Communicable Disease (CD) Program) investigate and report all tuberculosis cases in Durham County to state public health,  provide treatment for clients with Tuberculosis (TB), and conduct outreach efforts to rapidly identify individuals who are high priority contacts to a known tuberculosis case.

 

TB Clinic Nurse Responsibilities:  Performs direct patient care which may include medication administration and specimen collection. Also includes interviewing  individuals with non-infectious active tuberculosis to ascertain their overall health status, medical and social history, and their current symptoms; initiates plan of care for treatment and follow up; provides direct patient care for TB Cases per policies and procedures; initiates TB prophylaxis or treatment based on  standing orders; correctly documents all care provided in the client’s electronic medical record.
