NCAPHA IS ACTIVELY RECRUITING FOR A PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE I TO BE PLACED AT THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY HEALTH DEPT. 

Salary: *$48,485.41 - $53,333.95
Job Type: Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY:
 
**Starting salary will determined by the applicant’s years of relevant nursing experience. The current Nurse Experience Hiring Plan has built in progression through the range of the salary grade.
 
This is beginning level professional nursing work in providing primary, preventive, and rehabilitative care to individuals and families in the Child Health Clinic. Employees demonstrate and implement techniques of nursing care and counsel for promotion of health and prevention of disease in clinics and other standard settings within an assigned area. This employee will be aware of agency and program policies, procedures, and changes and ensure that these are followed.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
• Work in cooperation with the patient, the patient's family and other clinic staff to assess the patient's health status and needs.
• Provide patient education and counseling.
• May be assigned to an outreach clinic assignment that is similar to regular in-house assignment.
• Participate in program or agency-wide planning and quality assurance activities.
 
This position may require the nurse to provide contraception methods subject to appropriate training and staffing cross-coverage needs.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a B.S. in Nursing which includes a Public Health Nursing rotation
or
Master's in Public Health and graduation from a school of professional nursing
or
Graduation from a school of professional nursing and one year of professional nursing experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
 
Necessary Special Qualifications - A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
